WEST COAST DIRECTOR OF

EVENTS, MARKETING, & DEVELOPMENT

It is my desire to become Protravel's West Coast Director of Events, Marketing, & Development. As such, I would be responsible for the creation & management of opportunities for Protravel to increase profit margins, strengthen relationships with suppliers & existing advisors, and elevate our brand in the marketplace to attract new advisors & clientele. 

STRATEGIC INNOVATION

Events

  • Exclusive, thematic events produced quarterly for advisors, clients, influencers, & media.

  • Co-branded experiences with organizations like Millennials in Travel, Young Travel Professionals, Travel Massive, and the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce.

  • TED style talks featuring innovators and industry leaders with the opportunity to work with brands outside of travel.

  • Thoughtful partnerships with well-respected, established events like Los Angeles Food & Wine.

  • Strategic support of charity organizations with large galas for wealthy donors such as Stop Cancer or Face Forward.

  • Local day FAMs to foster relationships & unity within our advisor community.

  • New advisor workshops & supplemental training opportunities for all advisors i.e. salesmanship, social media, etc.

  • Point person for B2B events, client events, Tour Connection, holiday party, & 'culture' initiatives.

FOCUS ON HEALTH & WELLNESS

  • Sponsored by wellness destinations such as Miraval, Canyon Ranch, Body Holiday, SHA wellness, & brands with that focus like Mandarin Oriental & AMAN.

  • Opportunity to partner with brands outside of the travel industry for exposure to a new audience. Example: clothing like Kate Hudson's Fabletics or skincare like Ole Henriksen. Setup a pop-up shop.

  • Have a property bring out a wellness guru to lead meditation or talk tips for anti-stress. 

  • Possibility to benefit the Chopra Foundation and have Deepak Chopra come speak.

  • Serve spa-inspired cocktails & juice shots with a fruit, veggie, & quiche table.

  • Have two models in white one piece swimsuits with hair in white towels offering refreshment.

  • A local spa partner provides chair massages, blow outs, and mini-facials. 

  • Favor bags include day passes to local spa(s) and face masks.

  • Green screen photo booth with robes to put on.

FOCUS ON THE UNITED KINGDOM

  • Sponsored by VisitBritain and other tourism boards, UK properties like Dorchester Collection, Maybourne Hotel Group, Gleneagles, Ashford Castle, and companies like Celebrated and Sincerely Paul.

  • Opportunity to partner with brands outside of the travel industry for exposure to a new audience. Example: Burberry, Land Rover or Bentley, Lock & Co, etc. Vivian Westwood would be perfect. Perhaps she can make an appearance, and we'll host it on the rooftop of the Vivian Westwood inspired penthouse suite at The London West Hollywood.

  • Serve tea sandwiches & small bites with a beautiful dessert table, champagne, & tea.

  • Photo wall to offer an assortment of luxury, British hats.

  • Local falconery club brings a falcon for photos and an educational talk that ties into the properties that offer that.

  • Tea set favor.

  • Sponsored by cruise lines like Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, and river cruise lines like AmaWaterways and Viking in addition to yacht/specialty cruise lines such as Windstar and SeaDreams and companies like Royal Yacht brokers.

  • Opportunity to partner with brands outside of the travel industry for exposure to a new audience. Example: SPerry, RayBan, and Beach Bunny. 

  • Serve small bites, beer, wine, & a signature rum cocktail.

  • Look into hosting this as a white party on a yacht or boat charter like Horn Blower. Great photo opp.

Q4: Fall in Love with Wines from around the World

FOCUS ON GLOBAL WINE REGIONS

  • Sponsored by wine regions around the world: Napa Valley, Santa Barbara, Chile, Argentina, France, Italy, Spain, etc.

  • Opportunity to partner with brands outside of the travel industry for exposure to a new audience. Example: prestigious wine brand, watch company, anyone who would advertise in Bon Appétit, Wine Spectactor, etc.

  • Provide a wine tasting along with a cheese & charcuterie board featuring global product.

  • Have a grape stomping experience.

  • Wine stomper or glass charm favors.

  • Advertising with brands like Insta-famous Beautiful Destinations and on platforms like Pandora.

  • Content creation to tell unique stories and showcase advisors with a strong character profile like the bohemian Rbecca East from South Africa who handles celebrities or the bowtie wearing Francophile Howard Lewis who is everything France.

  • Branded partnerships with entities like Matador Network. Big social push for adventure trip giveaway.

  • Social media campaigns like #GowithPro with GoPro giveaways.

  • Newsletter building for advisors databases.

SUPPORT & BUILD

Development

  • Formalize onboarding process, create docs, and coordinate training with managers.

  • Continue to manage incoming website career inquiries producing biweekly reports and maintaining master spreadsheet.

  • Organize new advisor workshops & FAMs.

  • Implement new processes such as Facebook "AskPro"etc.

  • Lead integrated campaigns through events & marketing to make Protravel more attractive and create positive buzz.

  • The numbers: 10 years of event production & marketing experience - 5 years of that as the owner of my own company. 3.5 years experience with Protravel as Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Sales Development.

  • Proven leadership within the industry, first as Co-Chair of the SoCal ASTA Millennials & Mentors program for which I developed our signature 'Creative Education' campaign, then as Officer of Membership now Development for Millennials in Travel - Los Angeles.
